How we re-platformed Australia’s largest racing simulator eCommerce business from Magento to Shopify

By Alinga

Pagnian. – Gold Coast. An award-winning simulator seller, Pagnian, is a company based in Australia. It supplies quality simulation products to renowned brands such as Next Level Racing, Thrustmaster, Fanatec, and Buttkicker. Over time, the company has managed to bag the trust of many pro drivers.

They sell flight simulators, race simulators, motion simulators, wheels and pedals as well as flight electronics. Eminent drivers such as James Courtney, Jack Smith, Mad Mike, and many others rely on the products sold by Pagnian.

Pagnian offers a smooth and quick shopping experience at absolutely zero shipping cost. This is a reward that the company provides to its loyal customers.

Pagnian has been in operation since 2009, and in these 11 years, it has never compromised on the quality of its products. It also provides expert advice and support to tailor customers’ experience as per their needs.

Challenges Faced by Pagnian

The biggest hurdle came in Pagnian’s way when it decided to migrate from Magento to Shopify. It was a tedious task that needed meticulous planning.

Jumping from Magento to Shopify was a challenge because it required the migration of customers, orders, pages, categories, product and reviews, among other things. This migration is equivalent to starting afresh, though all the data remains intact.

The site had to be given a completely new look, too. It had to be customised to represent what Pagnian stood for. The theme of the website had to match the products that it sells.

Yet another challenge was to make the website snappier. Along with this, the conversion rates of the visitors had to be increased; simply drawing the traffic towards the website was just not enough.

Moreover, smooth and effortless navigation was also to be looked after in order to achieve a 100% user satisfaction. It was to be kept in mind that the website’s interface was potent yet straightforward.

What Solutions Did We Offer?

As always, Alinga was there to save the day and ensure a hassle-free and painless transition. We, at Alinga, understand the client’s requirements before implementing innovative solutions.

As per Pagnian’s demand, we offered them services to migrate from Magento to Shopify. Shopify is considered one of the most reliable and user-friendly eCommerce platforms out there. It is also free, so users don’t have to shell out for upgrades and security patches.

After rebuilding the store, we moved on to optimising it further. We optimised it for both speed and conversion. This ensured faster navigation and quicker translation of potential customers.

Our end goal was to make a website which not only looked nice, but was highly functional and was able to draw in more customers. We achieved this through custom theme development. We created a website for Pagnian, taking into consideration the look, colour, vibe, and philosophy of the brand itself.

Moving on, we improved the UI and UX of the website. Both of these changes made the shopping experience flawless. It prevented the customers from having second thoughts about the company and allowed them to easily scroll through the website.

Lastly, the website was given a mobile optimised design to ensure a better experience irrespective of the device the customer is using.
