How to increase your Magento ecommerce stores trustworthiness

Nike, North Face and Walmart are strong brands that need no explanation about what they sell. As a customer, you can be certain you won�t be scammed when you purchase an item from them. Customer loyalty is high.

This doesn�t mean you can�t compete with larger brands though; it’s about building brand loyalty for your store so that you CAN compete.

Your Magento ecommerce store may look great, but by adding trust enhancers to your store you can enhance your brand as one that can be trusted, and in turn compete with any larger brands in your niche.

Six Trust Enhancers for Brand Loyalty

1. Live Chat

Initially, you won�t be getting hundreds of customers to your store. This is a great opportunity, as you are able to offer a more personalised service to every potential customer.

Once you do start getting hundreds of customers to your store, having a live chat feature on your store will allow you to actively monitor and reply immediately to queries, which will increase trust and ensure your potential customer keeps up the momentum towards their final purchase.

2. Trust Seals

There are various sites online offering ecommerce trust seals which are easily acquired and will help your store look more legitimate.

Purchase one or two and pop them into the background of your site, they will increase the trust of customers naturally. Also, ensure you have security seals wherever possible (if you have them).

3. Guarantees

On your store, make it clear you offer guarantees of some description on your products.

If you provide a quality product or service you will never have to deal with returns, but your customers will feel good knowing it�s there, just in case.

4. Testimonials

Making your first sale in your ecommerce store is something you will never forget. Go out of your way to make sure your customer never forgets the epic experience they had buying from you too.

If you provide enough value to your first customers, ask about getting a testimonial to put on your site. If you are good to your customers, they will be good to you. Encourage them to do this by offering a discount coupon or free shipping on their next purchase.

5. Be Everywhere

When your site is launched, try and make your brand seen in various places on the web.

Think about social media, offline media opportunities, guest posting and podcasts. The more times people see your brand early on, the stronger the trust seed will be. Consider other options like Facebook advertising to really target your ideal customer.

6. Brands You Have Worked With Before Displayed

If possible, get logos from trusted brands on your Magento ecommerce store early to build brand equity. Anyone that you have partnered with in the past, or well-known brands that you plan to sell work well too.

You will need to get creative in looking for opportunities to leverage other brands, but think partnerships (provide a freebie when someone purchases an item from another store) and giveaways with high level bloggers in your niche.

Creating confidence in consumers when they first land on your store is important. If they don�t trust you they will never buy your products.
