Your primary Gold Coast web design colour schemes

By Alinga

Colour is everywhere in our world. A few decades ago the only break from colour was watching black and white TV. Turn to your computer and you’ll see colour is a main feature of successful website design, but only when done right.

The way we perceive colour has been looked into with a lot of studies and knowing how consumer behaviour reacts to various colours can help inform your Gold Coast web design.

Here’s how:

Whitespace

Now on to the colours and a brief talk about what they portray in relation to your customers.

Warm Colours (red, yellow, orange)

Warm colours provide positive energy about them invoking happiness when we see them. They are best for companies looking to enhance people’s lives and make people feel secure when browsing their site. Warm colours to consider include red, yellow and orange.

Cool Colours (blue, green, purple)

These colours invoke feelings of being perceived as straightforward, authority, power and trust.

If you have a corporate company that is looking to portray a clean-cut and ‘follow by the book instructions’ look, these colours are a good option. Think about some of the banking companies around you, many use blue and green, because these colours instlll trust and power.

Neutral Colours (black, white, grey, brown)

We talked about white earlier and black, grey and brown play similar roles to white, they are in the background and let the cool and warm colours take the main stage.

While neutral colours can be used as the primary colour on a website, the affect they have on the user will depend on the warm/cool colours used to compliment the rest of your Gold Coast web design.

If you plot colorus on a colour wheel, a basic rule of thumb is colours opposite each work well together, and while colours next to each other can match well, the contrast is not going to be as impactful.

There are so many aspects to getting your Gold Coast web design perfect and colour will play a key role in the final result. Think about the underlying message your brand is portraying and how you can utilise colour to emphasise that. Of course keep in mind your company logo and whitespace when deciding on your colour scheme as well.
